One Piece Theory: This Might Be The Reason Why Aokiji Lost to Akainu!
What’s the reason Aokiji lost to Akainu? Even though they seem equally as powerful!
Anime & Manga | 07 October
Aokiji decides to fight Akainu for the position of Fleet Admiral. The battle results in Aokiji’s lost, and he left the Marines. While Akainu rose as the Fleet Admiral replacing Sengoku. What’s the reason for Aokiji’s defeat? Check it here!
The fight between these two Admirals lasted for 10 days in Punk Hazard. As a result of the battle powers, the island is divided into two areas, half is filled with magma, and the other half is filled with ice. After his defeat, Aokiji decides to leat the Marines because he doesn’t want to work as Akainu’s underling.
At One Piece Movie Z, Luffy, and friends met Aokiji at a hot spring. And it turns out that Aokiji lost his left leg as a result of his fight with Akainu, so he replaces it with a prosthetic leg made out of ice. His right arm is also severely damaged.
Keep in mind that Oda was involved in the making of One Piece Movie Z, so the story is related to the original One Piece story. If we look at Akainu after the time skip, we can see the scar on the right side of his body, and his right ear is slightly torn.
Both of their powers shouldn’t have a big gap because the two of them are a student of Zephyr. Both of them are friends in arms along with Kizaru, and their Haki is at the same level. Then why Aokiji lost to Akainu?
There’s a big possibility that their devil fruit powers are the reason why Aokiji lost to Akainu. Every devil fruit has its natural enemy as its weakness. In an example, Enel’s Goro Goro no Mi is weak to Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi.
It seems like Akainu’s devil fruit is the natural counter of Aokiji. Magu Magu no Mi owned by Akainu is a devil fruit that gives the user the power to create magma while Hie Hie no Mi owned by Aokiji provides the user with the ability to produce ice. If we think about it, ice is frozen water and magma is a hot melting stone.
So it’s only natural that magma will beat ice. The heat that magma generate can reach 1300 degree Celcius, while a normal fire causes 1000 degree Celcius heat. Ice is made out of one element, water, while magma created from two elements fire and ice.
If ice is pitted against magma, then the ice will melt and evaporate. While the heat or the fire from the magma will only shrink, but the ground will still be hot. Maybe that’s the reason why Aokiji lost to Akainu. But looking at the fact that their battle lasted for 10 days, that must’ve meant that there isn’t a significant gap in their powers.
Maybe their devil fruit powers are the decider of this fight. Hopefully, we can see a special episode of One Piece that will show us the battle between the two Admirals in the future. It will be interesting to see the fight between these two Admirals in Punk Hazard.
That’s the theory why Aokiji lost to Akainu. If you find this article interesting, share it with your friends. Wait for more articles about One Piece in Dunia Games.
