The World Government did intend to get rid of Ohara because of their knowledge of the Void Century. But not necessarily with Kuzan aka Aokiji. Several times we see Aokiji's kindness even though he still carries out his duties to catch pirates. In this article, Dunia Games wants to discuss One Piece's theory about Aokiji's real purpose!

Aokiji was tasked with eliminating the residents of Ohara, but there is one scene where Aokiji looked mad when the Buster Call is fired. From this, we can guess that Aokiji had other goals. Yes, according to the author, Aokiji actually wanted to save the people of Ohara in his own way.

He was not seen killing a single resident of Ohara. Jaguar D. Saul that he froze didn’t mean that he was dead. Outside of the scene shown, it could be that Aokiji melted the ice and let Saul go, considering Saul was his best friend. Unable to stop Buster Call, Aokiji preferred to evacuate the residents.

Akainu's ”Absolute Justice” requires him to kill everyone he sees as a thread for getting in the way of his duties, including the residents of Ohara. While Aokiji has real justice. He wanted to do his job without killing the people of Ohara. Maybe this is the reason he hates Akainu so much and challenged him in Punk Hazard.

Perhaps the reason why Aokiji joined the Marines was that he wanted to protect Ohara as well as the knowledge of the Void Century and the Ancient Kingdom. But Aokiji couldn't do anything about it when he was assigned to destroy Ohara. His kindness was first seen when he let Nico Robin go.

Another good thing is that he didn't kill the Straw Hat crew when they meet. If he wanted to, then Aokiji could defeat them easily. He reasoned that Luffy had helped his work by defeating Crocodile.

In Z movie, Aokiji once again helped Luffy and his friends by giving information about Z. From some of his kindness, we can conclude that Aokiji is very different from Akainu who is willing to kill people for the "justice" principle he holds.

Some people say that Aokiji is a member of SWORD who infiltrated the Blackbeard Pirates to become a spy. But there is also a possibility that Aokiji will help Robin and Luffy after getting certain information from the group. Another possibility is that Teach wants to attack the Marines as an act of revenge for Ohara.

There is a small chance that Aokiji is also a native Oharan who intends to protect the people as well as their knowledge of the Void Century. His action is slightly different from Itachi Uchiha who massacred all members of his clan. Keep in mind that this is just a theory so it shouldn't be taken seriously.
