An extraordinary journey of civilization-building atop a colossal creature is finally ready for a full release. The Wandering Village, developed by indie studio Stray Fawn Studio and published by Stray Fawn Publishing in collaboration with WhisperGames, will officially launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on July 17.

Following more than two years in open development debuting on Steam Early Access in September 2022 and later on Xbox Game Preview in July 2023 the game is now reaching its 1.0 milestone. For collectors, a physical edition will also be available for PS5 and Switch, including a Collector’s Edition packed with unique items such as a mini Onbu-shaped plant pot, washi stickers, wooden pins, and an art book.

The game challenges players to build and sustain a community that lives atop Onbu, a massive wandering creature navigating a toxic, decaying world. The primary challenge lies not only in surviving environmental threats but also in managing the complex relationship between the people and Onbu. Players must choose: coexist in harmony or exploit the creature for the community’s survival?

With a world in constant flux filled with dangers like toxic spores, severe weather, and parasitic threats, players must wisely manage resources, rediscover lost technologies, and adapt strategies based on the biomes they traverse.

Throughout its Early Access phase, The Wandering Village has undergone numerous improvements, including the addition of a story mode, new biomes like oceans and ruins, and revamped systems for economy and research. Veteran players can expect added challenge modes, while full controller and Steam Deck support ensures a smooth gameplay experience.
