Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories is a card battle game that was released on the PS1 which was played by 90s kids back then. In this throwback column, Dunia Games will discuss some facts about Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories. Take a look at the facts below!

1.The First Yu-Gi-Oh Game on Playstation

Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories was released on December 9, 1999, and became the first Yu-Gi-Oh game on the Playstation. This game was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami. This is also the only Yu-Gi-Oh game on PlayStation 1.

On the other hand, there are more Yu-Gi-Oh games on PlayStation 2 like Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist of the Roses (September 6, 2001), Yu-Gi-Oh! GX The Beginning of Destiny (September 14, 2006), and Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monster Coliseum (April 13, 2000). On PlayStation 3, there is Yu-Gi-Oh! Millennium Duels (April 23, 2014), and Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution (April 25, 2019) on PlayStation 4.

2. Original Story

Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories was released after the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monster manga, but before the anime was released. Some of the stories in this game are based on the manga, but with additional plot added towards the end, such as the duel against DarkNite after collecting all the Millenium items.

3. Different Rules

One obvious thing about this game is the rules are quite different from the actual duel. The actual rules require players to summon level 1-4 monsters, but if players want to summon monsters of a higher level than that, then they needed sacrifice. Level 5-6 monsters require 1 sacrifice, while level 7-8 monsters require 2 sacrifices.

High-level monsters usually require special means to be summoned to the arena. In this game, we can even summon monsters like Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon without any sacrifice. What do you think about that?

4. Impossible Difficulty Level

The biggest reason you won't be able to finish this game is the impossible difficulty level. The strongest monster in this game is Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon with an Attack Point of 4500. Meanwhile, you will not be able to get the monster, unless you use a cheat code.

Towards the final boss, when dueling against Seto 3rd to be precise, he will likely use Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon at the start of the match. If he summons the card, you won't have a chance to win against it. For this reason, this game could be said as a failure.

5. First Generation Cards

Until now, there have been 7 generations of Yu-Gi-Oh cards. In this game, you will know various cards of the first generation such as Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, among others. In other words, this game is the perfect start to know various Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
