EA Removes Russian National Team and Clubs from FIFA 22 and NHL 22
The aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine also affects the gaming industry. EA removes the Russian teams in FIFA 22 and NHL 22.

Recently, the news of Russia's invasion of Ukraine was heating up. This also has an impact on the game industry who take part as an action of solidarity. Recently, Electronic Art (EA Sports) officially announced that it had removed Russian and Belarusian national teams and sports clubs from FIFA 22 and NHL 22.
This is an act of solidarity with EA Sports for the events following the post-Russian invasion of Ukraine which started on February 24, 2022. This is done by EA Sports to support peace and hope that the Russian invasion of Ukraine can end soon. Through an official statement shared on their Twitter account, they also revealed that the move to remove Russian clubs and national team was also in line with FIFA and UEFA.
Here's the official announcement shared by the EA Sports FIFA Twitter account:
"EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across world of football, call for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine," wrote the @EASPORTSFIFA account.
EA will also do the same in the NHL game series. EA will remove Russian and Belarusian hockey teams and clubs previously recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IHHF). The hockey federation has suspended the Russian team. The suspension was then also carried out by EA in NHL 22 which will take effect in the next few weeks.

Based on the information provided by EA Sports, this removal applies to Russian teams, including teams CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, Spartak Moscow, and Zenit Saint Petersburg. Meanwhile, individual athletes from Russia, such as Alexander Ovechkin, will still play with their non-Russian club, the Washington Capitals.
Prior to EA Sports, several sports federations have also implemented restrictions and bans on clubs and national teams from Russia and Belarus. Not long ago, UEFA has also officially moved the location of the Champions League final which was originally planned in Saint Petersburg, Russia, has now been moved to Paris, France.
FIFA 22 and NHL 22 are two sports games that have been released by EA Sports recently for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
