TLID in Turmoil, But the Door to Redemption Has Not Been Shut

TLID really really play bad this season.

The MPL ID Season 16 competition had delivered plenty of surprising drama, from dominant performances by top-tier teams to big names that had failed to live up to expectations. In the middle of this fierce rivalry, all eyes had turned toward Team Liquid Indonesia (TLID).

TLID in turmoil had become the saddest storyline of the first half of the season. Instead of emerging as a dark horse or a serious contender, they had found themselves stuck at the bottom of the standings. Defeats had piled up one after another, leaving fans increasingly hopeless.

Great expectations had surfaced when TLID overhauled its roster before the season began. However, the harsh reality had told a different story. The performances they had shown were far below expectations, with losses coming in without meaningful resistance.

Carrying the status of representing Indonesia at international stages such as the IESF and SEA Games 2025 after MPL ID S16, this condition had raised serious questions. How could a team trusted to carry the national flag struggle so badly at the local level?

TLID in Turmoil, But Do Not Surrender Yet

The facts spoke for themselves: TLID had held a painful 0-8 record at midseason. They had become the only team in the league without a single win. Not only the results, but their overall gameplay had been judged poor and directionless.

The absence of Aeron and Favian had been a massive blow. Without these two key players, TLID had been forced to rely on Yehezkiel, Widy, Aran, Jo, and Kabuki. Unfortunately, this combination had failed to build proper chemistry. Many had considered them incapable of putting up a real fight against their opponents.

Even so, the opportunity had not been completely shut. Weeks 6 through 9 still lay ahead. While playoff chances were almost impossible, TLID could still redeem themselves by finishing the season with their heads held high.

Fans certainly did not want their beloved team to play half-heartedly. This was the moment to rediscover their best gameplay pattern while repairing mental strength before stepping onto the international stage. Playing without pressure in the remaining matches could still open a path to resurgence.

After all, MPL ID had been regarded as the toughest Mobile Legends competition in the world. Facing strong teams every week should have served as a valuable learning experience. If TLID had managed to take positives from each match, those lessons would have been crucial for their future.

On the other hand, heavy pressure had continued to haunt the players. Public criticism, harsh social media commentary, and high expectations had been mental burdens. Yet, this was exactly the moment when a team’s true character was tested. Rising from adversity would always be more meaningful than winning in comfort.

TLID had to realize that even though their MPL ID S16 performances had fallen short, they still carried Indonesia’s banner on the international stage. Every step they took was no longer just about themselves—it was also about national pride.

Nothing had ever been impossible in the world of competition. Many great teams around the globe had once collapsed, only to rise stronger. TLID needed to treat this season as a lesson, not the end of the journey.

With matches still left to play, they could at least showcase their fighting spirit. Winning or losing was no longer the main issue—what mattered was performing at their maximum and giving loyal fans something to cheer about.

Supporters had continued to hope that TLID would end the season with positive momentum. Even if the playoffs were far out of reach, showing consistency and progress would still carry meaningful weight.

In the end, TLID in turmoil had become an undeniable bitter truth in MPL ID Season 16. Yet the door to redemption had not been completely shut. With strong mentality, valuable lessons from every game, and unwavering determination, TLID still had the chance to spark a revival—both for the rest of the season and in upcoming international tournaments.
