Toei Animation introduced a new trailer for the Dragon Ball Daima anime series during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event on Sunday, January 28th 2024. The trailer shines a spotlight on the character Goku.

The Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event also featured character design images for Goku and Krillin.

The Dragon Ball Daima anime is planned to be released in fall 2024. Masako Nozawa will return as the voice of Son Goku. Yoshitaka Yashima, who was previously animation director for Dragon Ball Super and the Digimon franchise, along with Aya Komaki, who was series director for One Piece and episode director for Marie & Gali, will direct the series.

Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, who is involved in Dragon Ball Z and the Digimon franchise, will adapt Akira Toriyama's character designs for animation, while Yuuko Kakihara, who has been involved in Digimon Adventure tri., Urusei Yatsura 2022, and Cells at Work!, will supervise and write series script. Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama is credited for the story and character designs in this latest anime.

In this series, Goku, Vegeta, Bulma and other characters will be younger than usual. However, this differs from a similar storyline in the Dragon Ball GT anime, where Goku returns to being a child after the end of the original series. Although the title "Daima" has no specific meaning, the kanji can be interpreted as "evil" in other languages.

Previously, the Dragon Ball Super anime series premiered in July 2015 and ran for 131 episodes until March 2018. Funimation and Crunchyroll broadcast the series, while Funimation released the series on home video.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was released in Japan in June 2022, and August in the United States. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures showed the movie in theaters worldwide.
