The official website for the Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021 anime posted a new trailer. The trailer for the film features the soundtrack song "Universe" by Official HiGE DANdism. The site also revealed its newest cast for the film.

Based on Comic Natalie, the new cast of Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021 includes Junichi Suwabe as Duracorul, a man who chases after Doraemon and his friends. There is also Romi Park as a little alien named Papi and Yuuki Kaji as Rokoroko, Papi's pet dog.

Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021 will be released on March 4, 2022 after a delay due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The film was originally slated for a March 2021 release, but the staff postponed the film to Spring 2022.

Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021 is the 41st film in the Doraemon franchise. This film is a remake of the 1985 Doraemon film of the same title. The 1985 version of the film will be screened in theaters in Japan from November 23, 2021 to December 2, 2021.

Susumu Yamaguchi, the main animator in several previous Doraemon films, who is also the unit director of Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Chronicle of the Moon Exploration and the director of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, is directing this new Doraemon film. Dai Sato (Eureka Seven , Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex , Listeners) is writing the script.

Official HiGE DANdism created a special soundtrack song titled "Universe" for the film. Shirogumi, the 3D CG studio behind Stand By Me Doraemon, will handle the CG for the spaceship in Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021.

A Nintendo Switch game based on the anime has also been postponed to an undetermined date. The party game was originally slated for release in March 2021 along with the film. The game's website doesn't currently include a new release date either.
