Trigun Stargaze Premieres in January 2026
TOHO Animation has officially unveiled a brand-new trailer for Trigun Stargaze, confirming that the anime will premiere in January 2026. The trailer showcases updated visuals, key character artwork, and an expanded cast lineup, giving fans a glimpse of what’s next for the futuristic western saga produced by Studio Orange.
One of the biggest announcements is the addition of Chika Ayamori as Milly Thompson, alongside the recasting of Millions Knives, who will now be voiced by Ryūji Satō, replacing Junya Ikeda.
A Direct Sequel to Trigun Stampede
Trigun Stargaze takes place 2.5 years after the events of Trigun Stampede, serving as the final phase of the modern Trigun series. The story is expected to dive deeper into emotional conflicts, moral dilemmas, and intense gunfights as Vash the Stampede continues his turbulent journey.
The anime’s first two episodes premiered at New York Comic Con, giving international audiences an early look at Studio Orange’s visually striking work and the continuation of the story.
Returning Characters and Cast
Fans will be delighted to see familiar faces return, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede, Sakura Andō as Meryl Stryfe, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Additional returning characters include:
-
Kōki Uchiyama as Legato Bluesummers
-
Ayumu Murase as Elendira the Crimsonnail

Production Staff
The project is directed by Masako Sato at Studio Orange, with Takehiko Oxi handling the story outline and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu supervising the series composition and script. Kouji Tajima returns as concept and original character designer, while Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Look Back) joins as animation character designer.
The Legacy of Trigun
The Trigun franchise, based on Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga, first ran from 1995 to 1997, followed by Trigun Maximum (1997–2007). Its first TV adaptation by Madhouse aired in 1998, and the feature film Trigun: Badlands Rumble followed in 2010.
The reboot, Trigun Stampede (2023), reintroduced Vash to modern audiences with stunning 3D visuals and a fresh narrative approach. The story continues to follow Vash the Stampede, the infamous gunslinger with a $60 billion double dollar bounty, known more for the chaos that follows him than for any crime he commits.
With Trigun Stargaze set for January 2026, fans can expect a grand conclusion to this sci-fi western saga — one that bridges the gap between nostalgia and cutting-edge anime storytelling.
