The reason for that is people would associate the product with the brand ambassador’s reputation.

Aside from that, a brand ambassador candidate needs to have a good image in public. So, a brand ambassador can market and promote the product or brand that they represent more effectively.

Esports Brand Ambassador: Duties 

An esports brand ambassador is someone who serves as the “face” of the organization/product that also promotes the brand. Recently, the esports scene has attracted so many people across multiple demographics, and esports teams are trying their best to promote their brand to the public.

A brand ambassador’s role in an esports team is to represent the team in many deals and collaborations with the sponsors. Therefore, companies tend to pick an attractive and communicative brand ambassador. Since one of the duties of an esports BA is to promote the esports scene.

1. Use Their Social Media Clout to Promote Products

One of the most common duties of a brand ambassador is to promote the product or the brand itself. Almost every team in the esports scene has its own brand ambassador. Usually, a brand ambassador is picked by the number of followers they have on social media. A brand ambassador can use their clout on social media to create various content that reach and attract their followers. 

Aside from that, a brand ambassador also serves as a model for the organization’s product. An esports team usually has merchandise such as team jerseys and other knick-knacks. By using the brand ambassador as the model and face of the product, they can promote them and even make them more attractive.

2. Do Live Streams

There are lots of brand ambassadors who do live streams with the pro players to promote their brand and esports team. Thus, esports organizations can introduce their players to the public in a skill showcase with the brand ambassadors. These kinds of live streams increase exposure to the public.

3. Create Promotional Content

The content that esports BA post on Instagram aren’t only limited to the content that their employers provide them, but they also need to actively create their own content to promote their esports team. Such as creating TikTok or other social media content that can help increase the team’s popularity.

As a brand ambassador, a BA cannot post their content willy-nilly as there are some requirements that need to be met. Some content are off limits for a BA as they are bound to the contractual agreement. 

4. Attend Esports Matches

This has also been announced by ONIC Vonzy, that an esports  BA also has to attend games and represent their team. The BA’s presence at these events are meant to provide support as well as the eye candy of the tournament. A brand ambassador also posts their activities during the event to their followers.

One of the biggest reasons for an esports team to have a brand ambassador is to help raise the popularity of the team to the BA’s level. Therefore, picking a BA isn’t a simple task. The team has to weigh in on certain factors to come up with someone who has the right image in the public’s eyes to represent the organization. 

Therefore, companies can benefit from having a brand ambassador, such as becoming the soul of the team, representing the employer, serving as a bridge between the company and fans, and actively promoting the brand.
