On Wednesday (5/4) Riot Games held a media preview event, which was attended by more than 300 media from all over the world, including Dunia Games. After the SEA Icon Series: Pre-Season, Riot Games announced a Wild Rift global tournament that will take place later this year!

"To top off 2021 for Wild Rift Esports, regional teams will qualify for our first-ever Wild Rift global tournament. While we haven’t nailed down all the specifics, Riot is committed to a global Wild Rift Esports event in the fourth quarter of the year," John Needham, the Global Head of Esports for Riot Games said.

Apart from the Wild Rift global tournament, there’s also information on regional competition schedules as well as a third-party tournament guide, which will take place separately this year.

"We've seen a great number of esports organizations around the world announcing their Wild Rift teams. In Southeast Asia, for example, organizations like The Alliance, RRQ, and LoL Esports veterans Flash Wolves all announced Wild Rift rosters. As we kick things off in the rest of the world, we expect to see some of the biggest names in esports also announcing their own Wild Rift rosters," Leo Faria, the Global Head of Wild Rift Esports, said.

Wild Rift is a 5v5 League of Legends MOBA experience that tests your skills and strategic prowess. This game is developed specifically for console and mobile by Riot Games. There are 60 Champions so far in the Rift, with two new Champions being released every month this year.
