Esports has enjoyed rapid growth in recent years around the globe, including in Indonesia. Given the massive spike of interest in the esports industry, more and more major tournaments are coming up in the country, one of which is the ladies’ Mobile Legends Bang Bang tournament, the Woman Star League (WSL), and the Woman Star League Academy (WSLA). 

In the inaugural season of the Woman Star League Academy in September 2021, the Indonesia Gaming League (IGL) from 1011 Event managed to gain a positive response from the Indonesian gaming community. The Woman Star League  Academy was well-received by female esports athletes around Indonesia. 

With the success 1011 Event achieved in organizing the first Season of the WSLA, which featured a total of 64 teams, now, 1011 Event returns with Season 2 of the Woman  Star League Academy. The tournament will be a huge platform for both amateur players/teams and professional ones. The winner of the competition will have a spot in the Woman Star League Regular Season 4.

The Woman Star League Academy S2 has already received positive responses, as well as support from the Esports Academy ID. The academy provides support in the form of coaching. This way, it’s expected that the players who compete in WSL Academy can improve their abilities to be more competitive in the ladies’ esports scene in Indonesia. 

Kresna Panji, the Head Project of 1011 Event, also mentioned “I hope that the Woman Star League Academy Season 2 will bring more ladies’ esports teams into the scene, even though the competition will be much tougher. 

And, hopefully, with this tournament, we can see more and more ladies players who have the potentials and skills dominating the WSL Academy Season 2. And, the winner will surely have the opportunity to compete against the top Mobile Legends ladies’ teams in Indonesia, especially those that will play in the WSL Season 4 Regular Season” Kresna said. 

The registration for the WSL Academy opens November 8-19. After that, the teams will play in the qualifiers from November 22-25. There will be at least 64 teams in that stage, followed by the Playoffs (Quarterfinals-Grand Finals) on November 26-28. 

The Woman Star League Academy will be held online to comply with the health protocols and ensure the safety of all the players. The tournament, brought to you by 1011 Event, has received a positive response from non-professional esports athletes in Indonesia. It is expected that the Woman Star League will help nurture the Indonesian esports ecosystem and the ladies’ scene. On top of that, it’s also expected that the tournament will serve as a medium for new ladies’ esports talents to showcase their potentials.
