All You Need To Know About GTA FiveM - GLife: Extinction
Aside from Roleplay, GTA FiveM also has a new zombie-themed mode!
Games | 17 November
Up until now, FiveM has been known in the GTA community as the platform for some Roleplaying, and recently, there’s a new mode in FiveM called GLife Extinction.
Unlike GTA Roleplay, which emphasizes the aspects of role-playing and socializing with other players, GLife Extinction emphasizes more on the RPG, Survival, Looting, and PVP aspects. GLife Extinction shares some resemblance with titles like Rust or 7 Days To Die with a post-apocalyptic setting filled with zombies, only that it’s the GTA version with the help of FiveM.
Now, since GLife Extinction is still relatively new, surely it has a lot of basic things that beginners have to know. What are those things? Check this out.
How to Play GLife Extinction
To play GLife Extinction, you just need to download FiveM and connect your Steam account. GTA 5 players on Epic Games have nothing to worry about, you just need to open Steam when running FiveM, and it will detect your GTA 5 file.
Next, in the search bar, type in “Extinction”, you will see a list of servers from various regions.
As I mentioned previously, the gameplay of GLife Extinction emphasizes more on the survival and PVP aspects.
Players who enter the game for the first time are required to create a character. The character creation process is similar to the one in GTA 5 Online. Once you have created your character, you will spawn in one of the basecamps or outposts.
And, congrats! Now you are officially a part of the GLife Extinction community.
Farming, Greenzone, and Redzone
Similar to other survival games in general, players are highly advised to look for supplies and weapons. You can find all of those by looting the zombies you killed, other players, or from airdrops.
During the farming process, it is highly recommended not to kill the zombies by hitting them with a car as you won’t get additional XP. In GLife Extinction, XP is crucial, and once you have reached higher levels, you can unlock valuables sold by merchants.
In addition to that, there are two types of zones in GLife Extinction: the Redzone and the Greenzone. Players who are within the Greenzone are relatively safe from other players, yet are still not clear from zombie attacks. The Greenzone is the perfect place for beginners to look for basic items, such as weapons, ammo, cars, medkits, etc.
In contrast, the Redzone is a dangerous area with more valuable drops. So, players are fighting their way in the zone to farm. And, understandably, it’s easier and more efficient to farm the items by looting other players. Therefore, you need to be more cautious while farming in the Redzone.
I highly advise you to immediately store your valuable items in the protected container to get rid of other players from looting them.
Basecamp/Outpost
So far, there are six outposts in total in GLife Extinction. Each outpost has a different merchant, and the best outpost is located in downtown Los Santos (Safe City Los Santos). In this outpost, there are several merchants who sell various items, such as weapons, cars, outfits, tattoos, supplies, among other things.
In every outpost, there’s a character marked with the running man icon on the map, which allows you to fast travel to any location.
Storage, Inventory, and Cars
There are three types of storage in GLife Extinction: My Bag, Protected Container, and Shortcut. The items that you have looted will be stored in My Bag. Now, every item in My Bag will be removed if your character dies by other players outside of the Greenzone. But if you’re killed within the Greenzone, these items will remain safe in My Bag.
If you want to get out of the Greenzone yet can’t afford to lose your items if you get killed, the solution is to move them from My Bag to the Protected Container. Thus, you won’t lose any of them.
There are two types of Protected Containers in GLife Extinction. The first is the carry-on container, with a smaller capacity. The other Protected Container can be found in every outpost, with a max capacity of 15,000 kg.
However, the items you store in the Protected Container can’t be accessed from Shortcut. So, make sure to store only the most valuable items in My Bag, such as weapons, ammo, medkits, and cars.
The Shortcut allows you to access your essential items, such as weapons, ammo, cars, and medkits. To use the Shortcut, you just need to drag an item from My Bag to the Shortcut. You also have to put the ammo of the weapon you wield on the Shortcut. To reload your weapon, you just need to press the number key of the ammo Shortcut.
It’s basically the same for vehicles. The vehicle you want to use has to be on your Shortcut. But when you get out of the vehicle, make sure to save your vehicle by pressing “K”, so it will be stored in Inventory. Because otherwise, other players can steal your vehicle.
In-Game Events
There are several events in GLife Extinction. Players will be notified with a pop-up on the bottom left corner of the screen when an event begins.
Currently, the most frequent events are airdrops and legendary vehicles. Like any other survival games in general, airdrops will grant the players who manage to open it with numerous valuable and rare items. One thing for sure, these airdrops will be targeted by a lot of players, so the location of these airdrops will be the hot zone.
Aside from airdrops, there’s also legendary vehicles, or war vehicles like the OP Technical Aqua, which will spawn randomly on the map. Unfortunately, these legendary vehicles are temporary and cannot be stored in the inventory.
So, those were all the things that you need to know about the GLife Extinction. Make sure to watch the following Dunia Games’ video, hosted by Dimedigger, on GLife Extinction tutorials.
