The confusion surrounding Valorant's presence at EWC 2025 has finally been cleared up. The Esports World Cup (EWC) has confirmed that it will feature the Riot game at their 2025 event.
Not only Valorant, the partnership, which is rumored to last until 2027, also brings 2 other Riot games, namely League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.
Quoted from vlr.gg, EWC Chief Games Officer Fabian Scheuermann said the presence of these titles will expand esports as a global entertainment movement.
“By bringing these titles to the Esports World Cup, we are not just celebrating elite gaming - we are, together, expanding esports as a global entertainment movement, creating deeper connections with fans across the world of gaming, music and digital culture,” he said.
For information, EWC is an annual esports world championship held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Last year, EWC successfully organized 23 events in 22 sports.
With the addition of Valorant as one of the branches, this will expand the reach of the EWC in 2025. However, it is not yet known what the format for this Valorant tournament will be, as the Valorant 2025 event series has been decided in advance.
