Games | 13 September
Valorant Premier has gone through the global beta stage and finally released at the end of August 2023. This is similar to Faceit for CS:GO, which offers more intense competition than the regular gameplay, but this is for Valorant. If you are curious about what Valorant Premier means, the following summary will help you understand it
What Is Valorant Premier?
Valorant Premier is a new competitive mode in Valorant that aims to provide a higher level of competition compared to ranked mode. This mode was officially released in late August 2023, along with Episode 7 Act 2.
Valorant Premier is open to all players who have verified and are in good condition (not under a penalty period). You must verify your phone number to participate. You can form a team with five members and allow up to seven players to join in this competitive mode. The mode retains features from the beta period, with additional improvements and plans to remain around for a long time.
After creating a roster, your team will be placed in a division where you will compete throughout the season, involving weekly matches and tournaments. If your team is strong enough, you can even qualify for the end-of-season tournament to compete for the title of Division Champion.
All Valorant Main Divisions
Valorant Premier has five main divisions, and here is the list from highest to lowest:
- Contender
- Elite 1 - 5
- Advanced 1 - 5
- Intermediate 1 - 5
- Open 1 - 5
Team divisions will be determined based on the MMR (Matchmaking Rating) of the top five players on your team. You will know the team division after the registration complete. This will be displayed in your Premier hub and team page. Remember that your team cannot change Divisions once a stage has started.

Valorant Premier Live Match Rule
Premier matches in Valorant have a different set of rules compared to Competitive matches. Here are some rules you need to know:
- All weekly matches are Best of 1.
- The first team to reach 12 rounds will get Overtime Priority.
- The Team with Overtime Priority selects the Starting Side for Overtime through a majority vote of five players.
- The team must win with a difference of 2 rounds. Each round, teams will switch sides.
- If 3 Overtime sets have taken place, one round of Sudden Death will be played.
- The Sudden Death side choice is what the team with Overtime Priority chooses during the Early Overtime Side Choice Phase.
