CAPCOM has revealed a new Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion trailer revealing the new weapons. The expansion will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 30, 2022.

Players who already own the base game Monster Hunter Rise can purchase the game expansion as DLC. There is also a set including the base game and Sunbreak expansion. The base game will get an update on June 30, 2022 in preparation for this new expansion.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will have a new story, with new locations to visit, and new gameplay mechanics as well. This game expansion will feature the new Elder Dragon Malzeno and Master Rank. This expansion will also bring back Shogun Ceanataur from Monster Hunter 2 along with several other monsters from the previous series.

Monster Hunter Rise has surpassed the 8 million-copy mark in physical and digital sales worldwide. This game franchise has circulated 78 million units cumulatively as of September 30, 2021.

The game launches on PC via Steam on January 12, 2022. The PC version of the game features 4K resolution, high-resolution textures, high frame rates, optimized keyboard/mouse controls, voice chat, and an ultrawide display. This version also includes all the content from the Nintendo Switch version that was available until November 2021.

Monster Hunter Rise launches on Nintendo Switch in March 2021. The game collaborates with CAPCOM's Ghosts 'n' Goblins Resurrection on October 29, 2021 and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise on November 26, 2021. The newest monsters in the game are Magnamalo, Aknosom, Great Izuchi, and Tetranodon.
