Some may get excited to see more Mobile Legends tournaments with all the surprises and epic moments in them. However, it’s not the case for one of RRQ Hoshi’s players, Calvin ‘Vynnn’.
In an interview with Dunia Games, the writer asked him about the biggest obstacle for a team to carry on and keep its performance up for the next season. According to Vynnn, his biggest issue is dealing with the tight schedule of Mobile Legends tournaments -- making it difficult for the teams to find new players.
“The main issue is the tight timeline of Mobile Legends (tournaments). It’s like, after the MPL Season 5, we had MPLI, followed immediately with roster lock. In the MPL Season 6, we had to find a replacement for XINNN, as he wanted to take a break, we found Alberttt. After that, we had MPLI, and then M2. (The time gap to) M2 was somewhat longer because we had to quarantine and whatnot.
Then we returned from Singapore, followed by another quarantine in Indonesia, we only had two days to find replacements for players who wanted to take a break. The main issue is the tight timeline of Mobile Legends (tournament),” he added.
“So, we got back to Indonesia from Singapore, and then we heard that Nando ‘XINNN’ would like to go on a hiatus. Then, Lemon would like to do the same thing in the first few matches, it’s quite surprising. At the time, the roster lock was on February 2, while we finished quarantine on January 30.
In just two or three days, we had to find the replacements, that’s the issue. The timeline of Mobile Legends tournaments is so tight,” he added.

Not just Vynnn, but the coach, Acil, had also complained about the same thing during an interview session with Dunia Games. In that interview, Acil said that he had difficulties getting to know the players as he only had seven days before the start of the MPL ID Season 7.
“To be honest, my issue is related to the players since as a coach, I need to know the habit of the players both in-game and out-game. So, that’s the main problem for me. Because we didn’t have enough time. I only got seven days to got to know them.
I got to know the players when the MPL started. My main problem is time, I didn’t have enough for them. I got so little time. In Season 4 (with RRQ) I had a lot of time (to spend) with them,” he concluded.
After hearing Vynnn and Acil’s responses, it seems that the timeline of the Mobile Legends competitive scene needs some changes. But what do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
