An official X/Twitter account for Daisuke Ashihara's World Trigger manga announced that the manga will be going on hiatus in the February 2024 issue of Jump SQ magazine. belonging to Shueisha, which will be released on Thursday 4th January 2023.

The reason is the physical health problem of the creator. World Trigger is scheduled to return in the March issue, which will be published on February 2nd 2024. The manga previously took a hiatus in the September 2023 issue and returned in the October 2023 issue. During 2021, World Trigger also went on several breaks, and four times in 2022.

Daisuke Ashihara began the World Trigger manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2013. The manga went on hiatus in November 2016 due to Ashihara's health problems, and returned in October 2018 for five issues before moving to Jump SQ magazine. by Shueisha in December 2018.
