In the latest update for Persona 5 The Phantom X, version 1.2, a new character was added to the event banner: Yusuke Kitagawa, codenamed "Fox." Yusuke Kitagawa is one of the main characters in the Persona 5 series. He is an art student at Kosei High School, known for his seriousness, artistic nature, and a life outlook strongly influenced by aesthetics and beauty.

Yusuke joins the Phantom Thieves after discovering that his teacher, Madarame, has been manipulating and exploiting him and the other students for personal gain. This marks a turning point for Yusuke, who fights injustice and realizes the importance of authentic self-expression through art.

In The Phantom X, Yusuke appears as a five-star unit, the "Sweeper" type, focusing on area attacks against multiple enemies while utilizing the Ice element. His Persona, Goemon, remains a symbol of his strength and determination. The original Japanese voice actor, Tomokazu Sugita, reprises his role as Yusuke in the P5X version, bringing a familiar feel to longtime fans while introducing the character to new players on mobile and PC platforms.

Yusuke is known for his unique personality, calm, elegant, and often utters poetic or metaphorical phrases that baffle his friends. He is very dedicated to art, even willing to skip meals to buy painting supplies. Although often seen as eccentric and lacking social awareness, he deeply cares for his friends and shows significant emotional development throughout the story. His Arcana is Emperor, reflecting his desire to become more mature, independent, and have a direction in life.
