The major changes made to the mage hero Yve in the August 8, 2025 patch have completely reshaped the power dynamic of the midlane in Mobile Legends. These adjustments have sparked intense discussions among players regarding her newly acquired status as one of the strongest heroes in the current meta. The most striking aspect of this update has been the rise of the “Yve No Cooldown” phenomenon, caused by the revision of her Skill 1.
The latest patch has turned Yve into a much more aggressive presence on the battlefield. With the drastic reduction in Skill 1’s cooldown and lower mana costs, she has been able to continuously spam damage without long delays. This is what has led the community to coin the term “Yve No Cooldown.”
In addition to the cooldown reduction, Yve has also received changes to her passive, which now grants her a shield whenever she deals damage to enemies. This shield can be stacked up to three times and lasts for three seconds, making her significantly more sustainable—especially when her ultimate is on cooldown.
While her Skill 2 has been nerfed in terms of raw damage and scaling, the improvements to Skill 1 and her passive have made her gameplay more efficient overall. The synergy between consistent Skill 1 pokes and the shielding from her passive has positioned Yve as a threatening poke mage that shouldn't be underestimated.
Yve's No Cooldown Skill 1 Makes Her OP
The most impactful change that has made Yve overwhelmingly strong lies in her Skill 1. Its cooldown has been dramatically reduced from 5–2.5 seconds to just 3–1.5 seconds. This means that at max level and with enough cooldown reduction items, Yve has been able to cast Skill 1 continuously without pause.
Not only that, the mana cost has been lowered from 65–90 to 40–65. This allows Yve to not only spam her skills more frequently but also in a more mana-efficient way. These changes have reinforced the narrative of “Yve No Cooldown,” now a reality in competitive and ranked play.
Skill 2 has undergone balancing adjustments. The second stage’s damage has been reduced from 105–180 + 20% Magic Power to 50–125 + 10% Magic Power. Its mana cost has also been slightly decreased to support Yve’s new spam-heavy playstyle.
Changes to her Ultimate have further complemented her revamped kit. The shield that used to activate upon casting Ultimate has been removed, but the number of hits has increased from 15 to 20. The slow effect from swipe has been enhanced from 50% to 60%. A new feature also has been added—a wider camera angle when using Ultimate for better map visibility.
This larger field of vision during Ultimate casting has helped Yve track enemy positions and has improved her zoning capabilities. Although it doesn’t directly increase her damage output, it has certainly contributed to her overall team fight impact.
With a self-generating shield from her passive, near-zero-cooldown Skill 1, and enhanced Ultimate utility, Yve has become a complete mage with burst potential, sustain, and superior zoning. It’s no surprise that many professional players have already labeled her as a Tier S hero following this update.
Numerous content creators and pro players have tested this new version of Yve on-stream, and the results have looked incredibly promising. Many of them have opted for full cooldown builds, such as Enchanted Talisman and Bruteforce Breastplate, to maximize Skill 1 spam potential.
In a team setting, Yve has been able to act as a constant threat that continuously disrupts enemy formation. Her passive shield has made her much harder to catch, especially when facing assassins or dive-heavy heroes.
The current meta strongly favors mages with low cooldowns and strong zoning tools. That’s exactly why this revamped version of Yve has risen to popularity and has earned her place as a top-tier pick in ranked and tournament drafts.
It’s no exaggeration to say that the “Yve No Cooldown” trend has marked the most significant transformation for a mage hero in Season 16. With all these changes in place, Yve has officially ascended to Tier S and has become ready to dominate the Land of Dawn once again.
