The Zenshu anime was officially released on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Zenshu tells the story of Natsuko Hirose, a young animator who started her career after graduating from high school. Thanks to her talent and hard work, she was quickly appointed as a director. Her debut as a director was a huge success, making her praised as a genius.

However, challenges arose in her second project, a romantic comedy film that raised the theme of first love. Because Natsuko had never been in love, she had difficulty understanding the concept of love, which hampered the storyboarding process and stopped production of the film.

Many argue that the ZENSHU story is similar to Tatsuki Fujimoto's Look Back manga. A few months ago, it was announced that Studio DURIAN would handle the anime adaptation of Look Back, not MAPPA. This announcement was quite attention-grabbing, considering that MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka had previously stated his intention to adapt all of Fujimoto's works.

MAPPA itself actually had problems with the animators they employed. Interestingly, they are currently making an anime that focuses on the story of an animator.
