The latest anime, ZENSHU, is confirmed to be released on January 5, 2025. ZENSHU tells the story of Natsuko Hirose, a young animator who started her career after graduating from high school. Thanks to her talent and hard work, she was quickly appointed as a director. Her directorial debut was a huge success, earning her praise as a genius.

However, challenges arose in her second project, a romantic comedy about first love. Having never been in love, Natsuko had difficulty understanding the concept of love, which caused obstacles in storyboarding and stalled production.

Many saw similarities in the story of ZENSHU with Tatsuki Fujimoto's Look Back manga. A few months ago, it was announced that the anime adaptation of Look Back would be worked on by Studio DURIAN, not MAPPA. This announcement attracted attention, especially since MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka had previously expressed his desire to adapt all of Fujimoto's works.

MAPPA itself actually had problems with the animators they hired. Interestingly, they are currently making an anime that focuses on the story of an animator. Let's just wait and see what the quality of ZENSHU produced by MAPPA studio is like!
