Curious about Ichigo Kurosaki who is the protagonist of Bleach? Let's learn about Ichigo Kurosaki here.
Anime & Manga | 08 October
Along with Naruto and One Piece, Bleach is one of the biggest and most popular shonen anime, often dubbed the Big Three. Just like Naruto and One Piece, Bleach still has a lot of fans to this day, this is because the fans love the protagonist, Ichigo Kurosaki. But even Ichigo's biggest fan may not know all the trivia and small details that need to be learned about him.
A cool detail that fans may not know is that Tite Kubo gave Ichigo a theme song called News From The Front by Los Angeles-based punk rock band Bad Religion. Also, according to Kubo, Ichigo’s giant Zanpakuto sword doesn't feel heavy because it comes from within him - but if someone else tried to lift it, they'd be in trouble. Curious about Ichigo Kurosaki who is the protagonist of Bleach? Let's learn about Ichigo Kurosaki here!
1. The Color of His Reiatsu is Different in the manga and Anime
Ichigo Kurosaki's Reiatsu in manga is shown in golden yellow. In the anime, for some reason, the creators of the anime decided to turn Ichigo's Reiatsu blue. This is one of those changes that has fans wondering why since that aspect doesn't affect the story in any way, so why not just let Ichigo's Reiatsu color stay the golden yellow?
Maybe because blue is a more attractive color than gold. After all, the change was a choice the creators made, and Bleach is one of the few anime to do so for no particular reason.
2. Ichigo's Xcution Registration Number is 007
Although the Fullbringer arc left a lot of interesting things that fans wanted. The arc feels like a filler arc that is more exciting than the manga because it provides interesting information. It is said there that Ichigo Kurosaki's Xcuction registration number is 007, which naturally gives a reference to James Bond, a very friendly British super-spy who has a penchant for saving the world and loves to hang out with any woman he sees.
While Ichigo is not as lucky as James Bond when it comes to women, he must have also saved the world more than a few times, namely against Aizen and Yhwach. This number 007 is a great little reference for analogizing Ichigo with James Bond.
3. Ichigo's Bankai Ability That Was Never Shown In The Anime
There's a teaser of Ichigo Kurosaki's fight with Yhwach, but the Quincy-infused Soul King makes sure to destroy him as quickly as possible. All we see in that fight is a more powerful version of the Getsuga Tensho, and it's coated in his gold Reiatsu.
The attack was powerful enough to cut Yhwach in half, and could have ended the fight had it not been for The Almighty's power. It's still a strange thing that this is the end of the series, but Kubo has not shown Ichigo's true Bankai abilities in the Bleach anime series.
4. His Shinigami Badge Was Broken In His Battle With Ulquiorra
Ichigo Kurosaki's fight with Ulquiorra is one of the best parts of the Bleach series and has a top-level transformation scene. That transformation is some kind of power-up that pops out of nowhere, but when there's a transformation that looks this cool, not a single Bleach fan is going to complain.
An interesting aspect is that once he takes on his new hole shape, his badge breaks, as shown in some of the chapter sketches. This is good news which is quite interesting, as it shows that Ichigo's shinigami side is no longer in control.
5. He Has Inhuman Endurance
Given that Ichigo Kurosaki is a mix of everything in the Bleach universe, it's no surprise that he's a bit stronger than most characters. He is still capable of dealing with multiple attacks and in a different way than most shonen anime protagonists.
Even though he felt his fair share of damage was done in a fight, there were many moments where he immediately did something to anticipate it. He survived Quilge's Heilig Pfeil attack unscathed and managed to take on Ginjo's Getsuga Tensho with only minimal damage to his arm.

6. He's An Expert In Shunpo
There's a reason Ichigo Kurosaki is labeled as having special war potential, and it's not just because of his mixed bloodline or even because he's become an expert in Shunpo. It happened because he took things at a very high speed, with Shunpo being one of the aspects.
Even Byakuya, who is skilled in this technique, always praises Ichigo's skills. The skill continues to improve, and by the time of the Millennium War, Ichigo is able to travel miles and miles in a single leap, surpassing even the perception of the Sternritters.
7. His Personality Never Changes
When we think of protagonists in shonen anime, the protagonists at the beginning of the anime are never the same as their characters at the end of the anime. Naruto is a classic example of an annoying bad boy becoming one of the more respected characters in the series.
Ichigo doesn't go through much personality development, only gaining strength as the Bleach series goes on. Some of his traits are diminished, such as his grumpy nature, but he is a character with the same personality from start to finish.
8. He Hates Paranormal and Divination
For Ichigo Kurosaki, paranormal things and prophecies are a means to prey on those who seek comfort. For him, no one should be involved in a trade that sells things that people can't see in real life. It shows how grounded he is and how protective he is of others, even people he doesn't know. He didn't want to see anyone be taken advantage of, especially people who were grieving. This is a strong attitude for the protagonist to have and shows why he has the respect he does in every battle.
9. He Needed Tatsuki's Protection When He Was A Child
It's hard to imagine that Ichigo Kurosaki needs help from anyone given how much he acts as a loner in his various battles. He didn't want to see others get hurt, and was willing to bear all the brunt of a battle himself to make sure others weren't burdened as well. When Ichigo was very young, Tatsuki was the one to watch over him, making sure others didn't pick him up and helping him in the karate classes they both took. This is an interesting role reversal and sadly not explored enough, as is the case with most of the human character storylines in Bleach.
10. Many people think he is crazy because he can see spirits
Ichigo Kurosaki could see Pluses or spirits at a very young age, and when he was very young, his mind wasn't developed enough to know he was seeing a ghost. Ichigo thought he was looking at ordinary people, having conversations within themselves in the most remote of places.
It makes most of the other kids think Ichigo is crazy, thinking he's seeing and talking to things that don't really exist. This causes him to become an outcast.
