A Unique Story about the Adventures of 2 Brothers Around the World of Alchemy
Most people are attracted to this anime series because they know the basic premise of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The two brothers live in a world that resembles the early 20th century in Germany, but in this story, the science of "alchemy" is truly magical and has replaced science in many aspects of life. Their father, who was a famous alchemist, one day went on a journey and never came back. For a while, two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric were very happy to be living in a beautiful country house with their mother. They study his father's alchemy book in hopes of becoming an alchemist like him.
But things took a turn for the worse when their mother died. Not only that, their father didn't even show up or send flowers when his wife died. In their despair over the loss of the only parent they left behind, they get the bright idea of trying to revive him with forbidden alchemy.
Doing such a thing turned out to have dire consequences. The impact Ed received was the loss of his arm and leg, while Al lost his entire body, but his soul was bound by Ed's alchemy to a suit of armor. Even so, they still do not get his mother to resurrect.
Since then, Edward Elric has become a "state alchemist", working for his country's military in exchange for gaining access to various classified alchemical information and to the Central library. Edward maintains hope that he can study alchemy enough to learn how to get his mother back, along with his younger brother's arms, legs, and body.
These two brothers travel around their country and go on many exciting adventures, as they get caught up in political intrigue and conflict with supernatural beings. They learn a lot about alchemy and more secrets about mysteries that are unique to their own life experiences, but they also help others a lot in their adventures.
Presenting Stories That Touch the Dark Side of Government and Politics in Real World Countries
The Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood series is definitely not as simple a story of "good alchemy," as we'll see if we follow the storyline further. The country of Amestris told in this story is also responsible for the near genocide of the people of Ishval who resembles the middle east, and the government of Amestris is full of layers of dark secrets.
Unethical human experimentation is also often carried out all too common under the surface of their version of "enlightened modern" society, reflecting the dark events that took place in the Western world in the early half of the 20th century. That's why this anime story is very unique and interesting because it dares to offend the dark side of government and politics in certain countries in the real world as well.

Remake to the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist Anime Series
The Fullmetal Alchemist (FMA) anime was first made in 2003 then basically remake or remake in 2009. Similar to Sailor Moon: Crystal, the 2009 remake of FMA, called Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in English, was made with better animation, and a more mature tone overall, and the anime series was meant to be closer to the story of the original manga.
Unlike Sailor Moon: Crystal, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood has a plot that deviates slightly from the original story. That's because when the creators made the first FMA anime series, they followed through the manga writing process, so the anime creators created a new story in a very different way from the manga story. Finally, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is very fun to watch because it presents a unique and epic story, and is one of the best anime series ever.
That’s all about Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood in Dunia Games’ Anime of the Week column.
