The official website for the anime series Reincarnated as a Sword (Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita) based on the light novel series by Yuu Tanaka and LLO announced that the anime is getting a second season. The website Reincarnated as a Sword released its commercial video and visual.

The 12th and final episode of the first season of Reincarnated as a Sword premiered on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. The website also posted a collaborative visual between the anime films Reincarnated as a Sword and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Guren no Kizuna-hen).

Reincarnated as a Sword will premiere on Tokyo MX on October 5, 2022 before airing on ABC TV and BS Asahi. This episode of the anime series debuted on the ABEMA platform a week early, starting on September 28, 2022.

Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Edens Zero) is directing the Reincarnated as a Sword anime at C2C. Takahiro Nagano (scriptwriter for Duel Masters) is writing and supervising the scripts. Atsuki Saito (Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu, Wandering Witch, and episode director of The Journey of Elaina anime) is designing the characters, and is also serving as chief animation director. Yasuharu Takanashi is credited with composing the music.

Kishida Kyodan & The Akeboshi Rockets are performing the anime's opening theme song "Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita" (Reincarnated as a Sword). Maon Kurosaki performs the anime's ending theme song "more＜STRONGLY".
