Bandai Namco Entertainment Southeast Asia has started showing a new trailer for the game Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom which is the sequel to the game Doraemon: Story of Seasons (Doraemon: Nobita no Bokujou Monogatari). The trailer for Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom highlights the game's socialization feature where players can interact with NPCs, give them gifts, and accept requests.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America confirmed that Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom will launch in western regions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam on November 2, 2022. Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom will launch in Japan and Southeast Asia on the same day.

Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom will get a Special Edition for PS5 and Switch, as well as a Deluxe Edition for PC via Steam. The Special Edition will include the Deluxe Edition Bonus and Season Pass. The Deluxe Edition will include a Deluxe Edition Bonus, a digital soundtrack, and Season Pass. The Season Pass itself contains three DLC packs, which include costumes, furniture, and mini-stories.

Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom will take place on a new planet. The series' mechanical elements return, such as building and upgrading aspects of the farm, choosing which crops to grow, and forming a relationship with NPCs. However, as in the Doraemon anime and manga franchise, gamers can take advantage of Doraemon's advanced gadgets in gameplay.

The first Doraemon: Story of Seasons game launched in Japan on the Nintendo Switch console in June 2020. The game was then launched for Switch and PC via Steam in western countries in October 2020.
