1. Scaredy Pants
This episode is very important because it is the moment where the Flying Dutchman's first appearance in the SpongeBob Squarepants series takes place. He appears at the Krusty Krab after everyone makes fun of SpongeBob for being afraid of him.
The Flying Dutchman isn't exactly the victor in this episode, as the ghost runs scared after he takes off SpongeBob's costume and peeks into his brain unexpectedly. The incident is a big victory for SpongeBob because he finally managed to scare other people, even the legendary ghosts were afraid of him. However, it was also a big day for the Flying Dutchman, who will reappear in many episodes and films of the SpongeBob Squarepants series.
2. Born Again Krabs / I Had An Accident
This episode provides a moral message about the dangers and consequences of greed. Mr. Krabs refuses to throw away the Krabby Patty which is clearly expired and unsafe to consume because he doesn't want to lose his money. To try to prove a point to his employees, Mr. Krabs ends up eating an expired Patty, and as a result, he has to go to the hospital.
The Flying Dutchman also came to take Mr. Krabs goes to Davy Jones's Locker which becomes the afterlife for all sea creatures, but in the end, the Flying Dutchman relents and gives Krabs a second chance if he promises not to be greedy anymore.
Mr. The "new" Krabs with his generous nature didn't last long, so the Flying Dutchman appeared again. SpongeBob tries to save Mr. Krabs by making a bet with the pirate ghost. Unfortunately, SpongeBob loses the bet, and he gets dragged into Davy Jones's Locker instead. However, the Flying Dutchman quickly returns him to Bikini Bottom, complaining that SpongeBob is too annoying in his realm.
3. Money Talks
Once again, the Flying Dutchman came to teach Mr. Krabs a lesson on his greed. In this episode, Mr. Krabs became enamored with the idea of money “speaking” after a customer offered $5 to kick several other customers off their table.
When Krabs shouted at his money one night, he was desperate to respond. After that, the Flying Dutchman accidentally came and offered to grant his wish, on the condition that Mr. Krabs is willing to give up his soul. Mr. Krabs immediately agreed, but the money was starting to drive him crazy because he likes to hoard money, but not spend it.
Krabs begs the Flying Dutchman to cancel the deal, but he refuses. Fortunately, SpongeBob appears, dressed as a ghost, claiming that he has sold Mr. Krabs, so the Flying Dutchman had to get out of there.
4. Shanghaied
When an anchor falls on SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward's house, they climb over it, to see whose ship is bothering them. As it turned out, it was the Flying Dutchman's ship, and because they had sneaked aboard, the pirate ghost wanted to keep the three of them there forever.
SpongeBob and Patrick manage to get three wishes from the Flying Dutchman after they steal his dining socks. SpongeBob uses one of his wishes to turn the Flying Dutchman into a vegetarian, so he can't eat it. It was a genius plan until the Flying Dutchman turned it into fruit.
5. Arrgh!
Mr. Krabs episodes in the SpongeBob series usually talks about his problem with greed. This one is no different, as Krabs watches SpongeBob and Patrick play a board game called "Flying Dutchman's Treasure Hunt," and becomes addicted. That obsession eventually prompts him to take Patrick and SpongeBob on a real treasure hunt, using a map from the Board Game. The trio never really knows where they're supposed to be going, but end up stumbling right into an "X" marking the spot.
As they began to dig, Mr. Krabs comes out, and he tells them because he's the captain, the treasure is all his. As if on cue, the Flying Dutchman appeared looking for his treasure, and Mr. A frightened Krabs instead blames the diggers on Patrick and SpongeBob. However, it actually cost Krabs a loss, when the pirate ghost gave SpongBob and Patrick gold coins as a reward for digging for his treasure.

6. SpongeBob SquarePants vs. The Big One
While on his way home from the grocery store, the Flying Dutchman bumps into Mr. Krabs. This incident causes him to spill his groceries, so he tries to get money from her by stealing her cash register. The two fight, and the Flying Dutchman finally gets what he wants.
However, the tray was thrown and hit him, sending him to Davy Jones's Locker. Here, the Flying Dutchman's voice may sound different in this episode, as Rodger Bumpass fills in for voicemail. There is no real interaction between SpongeBob and the Flying Dutchman in the episode, as SpongeBob is trapped on an island, waiting for the perfect wave called "The Big One" to send him home.
7. Appointment TV
A long-lost episode of The Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy has finally been released on TV. However, SpongeBob struggles to get home in time to watch the episode but many of his friends are in need of help at the same time. SpongeBob's friends realize that they have taken his kindness for granted, and force SpongeBob to skip the episode he likes. So they decided to reprise that episode of The Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy with a drama.
The Flying Dutchman makes a very brief cameo appearance in this episode, as one of the people SpongeBob helps. In the cameo, SpongeBob is seen cleaning the deck of the Flying Dutchman. This episode is a good indicator of the SpongeBob Squarepants series, as it was released exactly 19 years after the release of "Scaredy Pants," where the Flying Dutchman made his debut.
8. The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom
This is a Halloween episode, where SpongeBob tries to stave off fear by convincing himself that "scary" is the same as being funny. The Flying Dutchman, who loves Halloween, is annoyed to hear SpongeBob laugh when he should be screaming in terror. He decides to take SpongeBob's new theory as a challenge, and takes him and Patrick to his ship for the night. SpongeBob keeps laughing, no matter how scary it is, until the Flying Dutchman uses the ghost mist to steal the souls of all his friends, including Patrick.
SpongeBob valiantly tries to save the souls of his friends, but accidentally makes a fool of himself in the process. However, when the Flying Dutchman looks inside SpongeBob's brain, he is terrified to see a naked baby version of the talkative SpongeBob. The Flying Dutchman is so shaken by this that he escapes sailing, releasing the souls of all of SpongeBob's friends that he took.
"The Legend of Boo-kini Bottom" is the series' return to stop motion animation since it was featured in the second SpongeBob Squarepants film (2015), and is also the season's 11th most-watched episode, gaining over 2 million views.
9. Ghoul Fools
In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick find a houseboat haunted by a pirate ghost. While on the ship, they learn that the ghost is in Bikini Bottom because the head gasket is damaged. Lord Poltergeist, the captain of the ship, takes the souls of SpongeBob and his friends, but gives them double to buy new parts of the ship.
When Mr Krabs sees the doubloon, he wants to return to the ghost ship to try and steal the rest of the money. However, it turned out that the money belonged to the Flying Dutchman all along. He turns into a torpedo and sucks everyone into the void for trying to steal the gold. If you're a fan of this episode, there's a book based on this story, called Haunted Houseboat.
10. Shopping List
In this episode, SpongeBob and Sandy must collect Krabby Patty secret ingredients for Mr. Krabs. Meanwhile, Plankton follows them, trying to steal the secret recipe. The last ingredient they had to get was dandruff from the Flying Dutchman.
So, they went to his boat and managed to get dandruff. Plankton is caught instead, and the Flying Dutchman kicks him off the ship. It turned out that Sandy's gathering of secret materials was just a ruse to remove Plankton from Mr. Krabs. Hearing this news, Sandy immediately snapped and started beating Mr. Krabs.
