1. Brie Larson is a Stage name Inspired by American Girl Doll
Brie Larson once told Jimmy Fallon in 2015 that she was born with the name Brianne Desaulniers, but she wanted to change it because she was sick of people mispronouncing her French surname.
By the time she decided on her stage name, the actress seemed to really like the American Girl Doll that is Kristen Larson. So, he says, he decided to change his name to Larson with the reason: "So that Kirsten can be in our family."
2. Her First Acting Gig was in Jay Leno's Show
When Brie Larson was about 7 or 8 years old, she appeared as an extra on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." In the first episode, she played a Girl Scout. Her second appearance was when she appeared as the unnamed “Roadkill Easy Bake Oven Girl”.
In a 2017 interview with Jimmy Fallon, Larson said he remembered that she had acted in various fake advertising video projects on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."
While Jay Leno may have helped kickstart her career, Larson said the first celebrity autograph she got was from singer Meat Loaf, and the autograph was a gift from a neighbor.
"Our old neighbors in our apartment complex made fat suits for the 'Fight Club movie,'" Larson told Jimmy Fallon in that same 2017 interview.
The second celebrity signature that Larson got was from Jay Leno who helped launch Larson's acting career.
3. She is a Nintendo Fan Who Loves Super Mario
Brie Larson has never been shy about her love of video games. She told IGN in 2005 that her 15th birthday party was Nintendo-themed.
"The party was absolutely incredible," Larson told IGN. "I brought up the bounce house and I asked all my friends to dress up like their favorite Nintendo characters, and we played video games and had giant hammers and hit each other at the bounce house. It was so much fun!"
She also tweeted to Nintendo in 2017 following the release of the new Zelda game. In another tweet from 2015, Larson called "Super Mario 3D World" one of the greatest achievements in Nintendo's history. Larson has even expressed interest in bringing Metroid to life.
4. Larson and Samuel L. Jackson had Worked Together Prior to Captain Marvel
Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson did co-star as Carol Danvers and Nick Fury in Captain Marvel, but it's not the first time the two actors have appeared side-by-side.
They worked together in 2006 on the mockumentary film Farce of the Penguins, they also acted together once again in the film Kong: Skull Island in 2017, and once again they collaborated on Netflix's Unicorn Store (which also she directed) in the same year.
5. Despite having a Cat Companion in Captain Marvel, She is Allergic to Cats
Brie Larson said she was allergic to Goose on the set of Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel. As fans of Captain Marvel already know, one of Larson's co-stars in the film is an orange cat named Goose. But Larson had to distance herself from her furry co-star due to his allergies.

6. She Jumped Out of a Window at a College Party
Although Brie Larson never went to college, in 2015, she told Jimmy Fallon in an interview that she attended a college party at Brown University while she was shooting a film in Rhode Island. Larson said she was 18 years old at the time and when police showed up at the college party, she jumped out the window because she thought she would be arrested.
Actress Rooney Mara caught up with Larson after jumping out the window, and she said the two got lost in the snowy night, but luckily a man in a full suit of aluminum foil armor gave them a lift in his car. The man had just been at a "LARPing" or live-action role-playing party.
7. Larson Made a Cameo in 13 Going on 30
The classic 13 Going on 30 starring Jennifer Garner has a lot of famous celebrities in it, but you might not have noticed that Brie Larson's cameo was also there. She appeared as one of the Six Chicks alongside "Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson.
The film also features her potential Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo, who according to Entertainment Tonight, Larson only found out they were both in the 13 Going on 30 movie in 2019.
8. Larson Also Appeared Alongside Chris Evans in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
In 2010, long before the film Avengers: Endgame, Brie Larson appeared alongside Chris Evans in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. In the film, Larson becomes the ex-girlfriend of singer Scott, and Evans plays the ex-girlfriend who becomes Scott's new boyfriend.
9. Larson Auditioned for Several Major Franchise Before Landing the Leading Role in Captain Marvel
Brie Larson once made a series of videos on her YouTube channel outlining all the roles in the films she was in as well as the roles she didn't get. The list also includes Gossip Girl, The Hunger Games, the latest Star Wars, Spy Kids, and Avatar.
She also auditioned for Iron Man 2 and Thor before becoming the main character in the film Captain Marvel.
At the time she was offered the role of the Marvel superhero, Larson said she was filming Kong: Skull Island, and she said, "Oh, I can't do that. I have too many worries. It's too much for me... , " so Larson told Marvel not to be Carol Danvers.
After months of repeated calls to Marvel and a bit of encouragement from her talent management team, Larson finally came to a meeting about the role and the producers made the film a success.
10. Larson is a Musician, and She had a Recording Deal Early In Her Career
Brie Larson is also a professional singer. On his IMDb, she has soundtrack credits for several of her films including Hoot, Room, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
