Famous for its beautiful female characters, the Fairy Tail series is indeed very popular with many people. One of the little girl characters who are no less beautiful than other Fairy Tail female characters is Wendy Marvell. As the youngest Dragon Slayer and one of the youngest members of the Fairy Tail guild, Wendy Marvel often looks like the guild's mascot. Wendy has an Exceed named Carla who also often protects her.

Wendy has overthrown some of the strongest Dark Wizards in the wizarding world. So let's dive into some more facts about Wendy Marvell and some things only her true fans know. Curious about Wendy Marvell who is the youngest Dragon Slayer? Let's follow the discussion of this Fairy Tail character!

1. Wendy was Originally Designed as an Older Character

In an interview with Magapoke (Magazine Pocket) from Kodansha, Fairy Tail manga author Hiro Mashima explained that he originally intended for Wendy to become a Dragon Slayer at an older age than Wendy is now. But he also wanted to introduce a cute little character, so he lowered the character's age and made her the Wendy Marvell we see today. Even so, Wendy's more mature figure appears as a variant of her character in the Edolas arc.

2. The Initial Design of Wendy was a Water Dragon Slayer

Another thing Hiro Mashima originally intended for Wendy's character design was that she would be a Water Dragon Slayer. This started with Hiro Mashima's plan to even use the kanji for water in her name, to finally call it her "Wednesday", which uses the same water kanji symbol, before finally choosing the name Wendy Marvell and making her the Sky Dragon Slayer. While the Water Dragon Slayer would be a cool character, in the end the water element was used a few times between Gray and Juvia's characters.

3. She Doesn't Like Umeboshi or Pickled Plums

Although everyone dislikes a certain type of food, even in the manga, which is often highlighted in a character profile at the beginning or end of a manga volume, Wendy Marvell doesn't like Umeboshi or pickled plums.

Not only did this little Dragon Slayer dislike pickled plums, she also couldn't stand seeing other people eat them. This was so disliked by Wendy that she gave up the match against her fellow guildmates because someone had placed a plum too close to her.

4. He was Originally a Dragon Slayer Who didn't Suffer from Motion Sickness

Interestingly enough, Wendy Marvell is actually an example of Dragon Slayer not suffering from motion sickness at first. This is especially useful when Wendy is introduced, as she can use her magic to cast motion sickness spells on other Dragon Slayers to help them deal with problems on vehicle trips.

Later, Wendy developed motion sickness and it was claimed that this happened because she had finally grown into a fully grown Dragon Slayer. In fact, this was probably because Hiro Mashima didn't think this was anything more than a joke.

5. She Works As a Singer in an Idol Group

The Tartaros arc has some story development and character development, even for characters who aren't central to the plot like Wendy, who ends up learning Dragon Force as she pleases. But in the end, they were all forced to separate after Makarov disbanded the Fairy Tail guild to protect them from what happened. During Fairy Tail's disbandment, Wendy became a singer with Sherria as a member of the idol group Sky Sisters. Both are quite talented, and even made an appearance at the Lamia Scale Thanksgiving Day parade.

6. Have Joined 3 Guilds

Wendy Marvell may be the only member of Fairy Tail who has been a member of more than one guild, but three separate guilds. When the Oracion Seis arc begins, she is a member of the Cait Shelter guild, which turns out to be just an illusion guild that gives her a home to grow up in. She joined Fairy Tail afterwards, as fighting to stop Oracion Seis gave them a close connection.

But after the Fairy Tail guild was disbanded, she was forced to find a new home and join her friend Sherria in the Lamia Scale guild, before Wendy finally returned to the Fairy Tail guild again.
