The official Twitter account for Suzume no Tojimari, Makoto Shinkai's latest film, posted the full trailer with English subtitles on Friday, July 15, 2022.

Actress Nanoka Hara voices the female protagonist named Suzume Iwato in the film Suzume no Tojimari. Hara competed for the role with over 1,700 other applicants in her audition, and this was her first voice acting role in an anime.

Makoto Shinkai (Your Name., Weathering With You) is directing Suzume no Tojimari and writing the screenplay. He is also credited as the creator of the original story. Masayoshi Tanaka (Your Name., Weathering With You) is designing the characters. Kenichi Tsuchiya (Your Name., Garden of Words) is the animation director. Takumi Tanji (Children Who Chase Lost Voices) is the art director. CoMix Wave Films and Story Inc. producing the film. TOHO distributed the film.

Suzume no Tojimari will be released in Japan on November 11, 2022. Shinkai will also write the novelization of Suzume no Tojimari which will be released on August 24, 2022.

Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Wild Bunch International will release the film worldwide except in the Asian region in early 2023. Crunchyroll will handle distribution in the North American region, while Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle distribution in the Latin America, South America, and South America regions. Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Europe. Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Wild Bunch International will release the film in French-speaking Europe and Germany.
