Fullmetal Alchemist To Release 2 Live-Action Films

Fullmetal Alchemist series will be releasing 2 new live-action films in May and June 2022.

The official Twitter account for Fullmetal Alchemist live-action made an announcement on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. The announcement revealed that the Fullmetal Alchemist series will be releasing 2 new live-action films in May and June 2022. Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Fukushuusha Scar (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar), will be released on May 20, 2022 and tells the story of Edward's battle with Scar. The second film, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation), will be released on June 24, 2022 and chronicles the final battle of the story.

The films will feature returning cast members. The film stars Ryosuke Yamada (Hey! Say! JUMP member and Nagisa from Assassination Classroom) as Edward Elric.

There's also Atomu Mizuishi (Garo - Makai no Hana) as Alphonse Elric, Tsubasa Honda (Futaba Blue Spring Ride live-action) as Winry Rockbell, Dean Fujioka (Happy Marriage!? live-action) as Roy Mustang, Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, Kanata Hongo as Envy, Ryuta Sato as Maes Hughes, and Shinji Uchiyama as Gluttony.

  • Keisuke Watanabe as Ling Yao
  • Yuki Yamada as Solf J. Kimblee
  • Hiroshi Tachi as King Bradley
  • Koji Yamamoto as Alex Louis Armstrong
  • Chiaki Kuriyama as Olivier Mira Armstrong
  • Seiyo Uchino as Van Hohenheim
  • Yukie Nakama as Trisha Elric
  • Jun Fubuki as Pinako Rockbell
  • Naohito Fujiki as Yuriy Rockbell
  • Kaoru Okunuki as Sarah Rockbell
  • Kokoro Terada as Selim Bradley
  • Long Meng Rou as May Chang
  • Haruhi Ryоga as Izumi Curtis

Fumihiko Sori (Ping Pong live-action) will return to direct the two Fullmetal Alchemist live-action films. The films commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga. Several theaters in Japan revealed a teaser for the project by presenting the website vengeance-scar.jp and a visual featuring Scar, played by Makenyu Arata (Enishi Yukishiro in Rurouni Kenshin and Roronoa Zoro in One Piece)
