The official website for The Idolm@ster franchise announced on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 that the project The Idolm@ster SideM will be adapted into a stage play, which will debut at The Galaxy Theater Tokyo, Japan in June 2022. The stage play will be adapted from the smartphone game The Idolm@ster SideM Growing Stars.

Actor Hirofumi Araki (Touken Ranbu) directed the stage play, with a script written by actor Mizuki Sano (live action Kindaichi Case Files in 1995).

The first game from The Idolm@ster SideM project launched in 2014. Like other games in the The Idolm@ster franchise, SideM games are built on the concept of "idols you can produce."

This game focuses on male idols at the agency 315 Production (pronounced as "Saiko Production" or "Ultimate Production"). The Idolm@ster SideM Live on St@ge! launched in 2017, but stopped the services in January 2021, and shut down in August 2021. Idolm@ster SideM Growing Stars, the newest game in the project, launched in October 2021.

The anime adaptation of The Idolm@ster SideM premiered in October 2017, after featuring a special prologue episode about the three members of Jupiter's idol unit that aired in September 2017.

Sumeragi launched The Idolm@ster SideM Wake Atte Mini! in 2016 and ended in January 2018. This sequel to Sumeragi's manga re-launched on Dengeki Maoh in September 2018 and ended in January 2019.
