Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase announced that Konami will be releasing Super Bomberman R 2, the sequel to Super Bomberman R, for Nintendo Switch in 2023. Konami also revealed that they will be releasing Super Bomberman R 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation. 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Konami has unveiled the trailer for Super Bomberman R 2.

Super Bomberman R 2 will feature the latest 16-Player Castle Mode. In this mode, a player defends his castle against up to 15 attackers. The new story mode will feature exploration, base building, and boss battles. This game will also feature classic battle modes and battle royale that can be followed by up to 64 players.

Previously, the Super Bomberman R game debuted on Nintendo Switch in March 2017 in North America, Japan, and Europe. Super Bomberman R also debuted for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in the United States, Japan, and Europe region in June 2018. The game also got a release version for Google Stadia.

Fyi, a free-to-play battle royale game titled Super Bomberman R Online launched on Google Stadia in September 2020, and on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in May 2021. The game will end its online service in May 2021. December 1, 2022.
