The official Twitter account for Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai made an announcement on Thursday, March 17, 2022. The announcement revealed that TV Tokyo will not be broadcasting new episodes of Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai on March 19, March 26, and April 2, 2022, due to the Toei Animation hacking incident.

TV Tokyo will instead rebroadcast episode 5 of the anime on March 19, 2022. TV Tokyo will also rebroadcast two more episodes of the "best-picked" episodes of Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai over the next two weeks.

Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai Twitter stated that the anime staff will reveal at a later date what episodes will air on April 9, 2022, and beyond.

Toei Animation announced on Friday, March 11, 2022 that on March 6, 2022, someone illegally accessed Toei Animation's corporate network, resulting in the closure of some of its corporate systems.

Toei Animation is investigating the matter, and revealed that the hack will affect broadcast schedules for the anime One Piece, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, Delicious Party Precure, and Digimon Ghost Game.
