Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon manga is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a number of events and collaborations. The 30th anniversary of the Sailor Moon manga is also celebrated with the opening of a Sailor Moon museum which will be held for a limited time in Japan at the end of 2022.
This museum exhibition will trace the history of Sailor Moon and feature artwork from manga, anime, musicals, merchandising, and more. More details about the exhibition will be announced at a later date.
The Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie (Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon Eternal) film is also teaming up with Sanrio for the first time. Its character merchandise features Sailor Moon paired with Hello Kitty, Sailor Chibi Moon paired with My Melody, and Sailor Mercury paired with Cinnamoroll.
Sailor Mars is paired with Kuromi, Sailor Jupiter paired with Marron Cream, and Sailor Venus paired with Pompompurin. The various collaboration merchandise will be released at a later date.
In addition, Sailor Moon also collaborated with Premico to sell traditional Japanese crafts, wicca watchmakers, women's accessory shop Maison de FLEUR, clothing brand UNIQLO, and luxury fashion brands Anna Sui and Samantha Thavasa.
In late February 2022, chocolate brand Milcrea will be holding a giveaway campaign in Japan, with a large pillow featuring the original Sailor Moon design as one of the prizes.
