The staff for the live-action adaptation of Reiji Miyajima's Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) manga announced another cast member on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Comedian Oideyasu Oda (Come Come Everybody, Birds Without Names) plays Kazuo Kinoshita, the father of the main character Kazuya in Rent-A-Girlfriend live-action.

Oda revealed that his appearance in Rent-A-Girlfriend live-action is his first role in the standard Japanese dialect spoken in Tokyo, and he asked viewers to check if he could get rid of his Kansai accent. For information, Oda, who was born in Kyoto, has played several characters from the Kansai area south of Tokyo over the years.

Naniwa Danshi idol group member Ryusei nishi (Seiho Boys' High School! Live-action) and actress Hiyori Sakurada (Tokyo Ghoul live-action, Twilight) is playing the protagonists Kazuya Kinoshita and Chizuru Mizuhara.

8. Kosuke Suzuki as Kazuya's friend

Daisuke Yamamoto (Ossan's Love franchise) and Kazuki Kon are directing, and Kumiko Aso (Marumo no Okite) is writing the script. Yuki Munakata is in charge of composing the music. The Rent-A-Girlfriend live-action series will premiere on TV Asahi channel on July 2, 2022 at 26:30, and will also air on TV Asahi Broadcasting Corporation channel on July 3, 2022 at 11:55 p.m. The series will also be streamed on TVer, GHAO!, dTV, and Hulu services in the Japan region.

Miyajima serialized the Rent-A-Girlfriend manga in Kodansha's Shonen Weekly Magazine in July 2017. The series also received a manga anthology on August 17, 2020. The manga also inspired an anime series that premiered in July 2020 and ran for 12 episodes.
