Here’s our review of FAST X. For those of you who are still unsure whether to see the latest film from Universal Pictures, you can use this article as your reference.

This film hits Indonesian theaters on 17 May 2023. In the 10th film, you can follow Dominic Toretto in the next chapter of his journey.

So, how good is the 10th film from the Fast and Furious franchise actually? Without further ado, let’s get into it.

FAST X: Review

1. A Rather Simple Storyline

In FAST X, you’ll learn that the film doesn’t have a convoluted plot. The movie revolves around the premise of Dante, who seeks revenge on Dominic Toretto. Dante exacts his revenge by terrorizing everything that the main protagonist holds dear.

So, is there a plot-twist in this movie? Hmm…well, there are some plot-twists that you’ll see in this film. Yet, for me personally, there’s only one plot-twist at the end of the movie that did surprise me. Aside from that, I find the plot to just be “okay”.

2. FAST X Has Various Kinds of Action Scenes That Are (Sometimes) Outrageous

The 10th film of the Fast and Furious franchise won’t be a complete package if it doesn’t offer numerous daring, action scenes. You’ll see various kinds of action scenes, from racing, fights, to shootouts.

However, there are several scenes that – I find – are outrageous. These scenes made me wonder and say, “Well, that’s just over-the-top.”

All in all, these ridiculously excessive scenes may serve as the clear line that emphasizes that this film is just a product of a wild imagination.

3. Jason Momoa Impresses as Dante, the Main Adversary

Jason Momoa plays the main villain, Dante, in this film. He’s the toughest adversary that Dominic Toretto has ever faced. However, I personally think that Jason Momoa did an amazing job in playing Dante, making him a villain with the charm that separates him from the typical adversaries in movies.

Dante is rather eccentric, unhinged, and has some sense of comedy, leaving a great impression on the audience. Thus, I personally believe that he’s the most interesting character in the movie.

4. FAST X is Just a Beginning to an End

As some of you may know, FAST X will have two parts. Therefore, this film is just a beginning to an end to Dominic Toretto’s journey. I also urge you to not leave your seat once the movie ends, as there’s a post-credit scene that you definitely need to see.

Verdict

Well, overall, I think that this film is quite entertaining. Especially for viewers who only want to sit and enjoy a movie and the action scenes in it, without thinking too much about the plot. I’d give FAST X a score of 6.5/10.
