As an action anime, it’s common to see a character’s death in Kimetsu no Yaiba. Usually, those characters died when fighting an opponent far stronger than them. Several characters in Kimetsu no Yaiba are killed since they are not strong enough to kill the demons.

1. Kyojuro Rengoku

The first killed Pillar is Kyojuro Rengoku, the happy-go-lucky and powerful Fire Pillar. Although he is strong, Kyojuro Rengoku is killed after fighting the Upper Moon demon, Akaza.

During the Train arc or to be more accurate in chapter 66, Kyojuro Rengoku faced against Akaza to protect the train passengers. He was killed since he decides to protect the train passenger from the demon.

Kyojuro faced Akaza in the first movie of the animated series named Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Infinity Train Arc, and the movie may be aired in Indonesia.

2. Shinobu Kochou

Next up after Kyojuro is Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Pillar with a unique ability. Shinobu lost her life when fighting an Upper Moon demon named Doma. Doma is a demon with the ability to counter the attacks of Shinobu since he can neutralize her poison.

Since she is not strong enough to be an Upper Moon demons, Shinobu tragically lost her life at the hands of Doma that also killed her older sister, Kanae Kocho.

Many fans of Kimetsu no Yaiba felt upset over the death of Shinobu Kocho and stops reading the manga.

3. Muichiro Tokito

The Mist Pillar that has the appearance of a girl, Muichiro Tokito, is considered as one of the strongest Pillar. He died at the hands of the first Upper Demon, Kokushibou, since the demon is far stronger than Muichiro.

Muichiro lost his life after getting hit by the skill of Kokushibou. Before he died, Muichiro managed to attack Kokushibou and weaken the demon for a moment.

4. Genya Shinazugawa

Genya Shinazugawa is the demon slayer that graduates along with Kamado Tanjiro and friends. Genya is the only character that brutally murdered since Kokushibou split him into two.

But the death of Genya and Muichiro is not wasted since Kokushibou is killed after they sacrificed their lives to protect their comrades and create an opening to kill Kokushibou.

5. Kagaya Ubuyashiki

Kagaya Ubuyashiki, or usually known as Oyakata-sama, is the leader of the 97th leader of the Demon Slaying Corps. In Kimetsu no Yaiba chapter 138, Kagaya lost his life after he blows himself up along with his wife and kids to lure in Muzan Kibutsuji.
