Netflix Geeked confirmed on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 that production for One Piece live-action series based on the popular manga by Eiichiro Oda has officially begun. The post also shows photos of Luffy, Nami, Usopp and Sanji during the making of the One Piece live-action series. But there is no photo of Zoro in the post, is he lost?

Steven Maeda, one of the executive producers for the live action One Piece series, hinted through several posts on his Twitter account on Sunday, January 31, 2022 that filming for the series had begun. His first post shows a Straw Hat keychain with the text "The Day of the Beginning…," while his second post shows a photo of the executive producer's chair.

The cast includes Inaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Arata Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, and Emily Rudd as Nami. There's also Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Netflix will exclusively stream the live action One Piece series. The first season will have ten episodes. Eiichiro Oda will serve as executive producer on the project.

The One Piece anime adaptation has been airing since 1999. The anime's 1,000th episode premiered in November 2021. The franchise also has a new anime film titled One Piece Film Red set for release on August 6, 2022.
