The latest Unreal Engine 5 technology demo video focusing on a train station has recently gone viral because it creates a very real look and is perfect for a backdrop in a horror game.
Since Unreal Engine 5 became available to all game developers last month, we've seen tons of video demos of the new technology start to appear. This new video demo set in the train station was created by Lorenzo Drago. This Etchu-daimon Station is based on a real-life train station in the Toyama area, Japan.
The photorealistic demo video begins at a seemingly deserted train station on a sunny day, with the perspective of a cameraman roaming his station platform. However, when the video is over a minute long, the plot of the demo switches to the night after a rainstorm, and the video presents a much more sinister setting.
People who reviewed the video argued that the environment shown here is a high-resolution render running at around 7 frames per second. By looking at this very realistic demo video, it seems that Unreal Engine 5 technology will bring us all to the real experience of playing video games.
