Mecha series fans surely know about this particular franchise, right? Gundam has always been foremost when talking about large robots. Originally, Gundam robots had a height of about 20 meters. That is roughly equivalent to an eight-story building. Quite huge, huh? However, these biggest Gundam are certainly different stories!

In some Gundam series, there are Gundam robots that are many times bigger than others. These Gundam have fantastic and super strong weaponry. Which Gundam are we talking about? Let’s take a peek!

5. MSA-0011 S Gundam Deep Striker

MSA-0011 S Gundam Deep Striker or commonly called as Gundam Deep Striker comes from Gundam Sentinel series. This huge Robot is originally a Mobile Suit named S Gundam that uses Deep Striker’s weapons and boosters.

Even though the Deep Striker system was never made, but that weapon was predicted to be the strongest ever to be attached to a Gundam!

4. RX-78GP03 Gundam Dendrobium

Gundam Dendrobium is the third Gundam made from the Gundam Development Project, hence the name GP03. This Gundam is a combination of Mobile Suit RX-78GP03S Gundam Dendrobium Stamen and Orchis’ armed base. It appeared on OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.

3. MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II

Psycho Gundam Mk-II appeared in the Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta and Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ series. As the name implies, Psycho Gundam Mk-II is an upgrade of the black Psycho Gundam. This giant Gundam was piloted by two Cyber Newtypes, Rosamia Badam and after that, Plu Two.

2. GFAS-X1 Destroy Gundam

Destroy Gundam is the giant Gundam from the series, Gundam SEED Destiny that can change shapes into two modes, namely Mobile mode and Assault mode. This Gundam reaches 56,3 meters and has been mass-produced. The first Pilot to drive this Gundam was Stella Louissier.

1. JDG-00X Devil Gundam

Devil Gundam became the biggest Gundam ever in the series. Originally, Devil Gundam was called Ultimate Gundam and had nanomachine ability to evolve, self recover, and self replicate.

Its main task is to save the damaged Earth with its sophisticated nanomachine technology. However, upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere, the Ultimate Gundam program was damaged, thus give it another function: to annihilate humans from the Earth, as it considers humanity is the source of Earth’s downfall.

Those were five Gundam with colossal size. Some of them can be as big as a city! Due to their massive size, these Gundam are not widely produced (except for Destroy Gundam). Indubitably, they require a lot of costs to build, not to mention the need for a large manufacturing site and maintenance costs. Which of these five giant Gundam is your favorite?
